As I write this, I have been a Texas resident for exactly eight years. And a New Neighbors member for over seven. Moving to a new state, I needed to find a purpose, and friends, women with whom I could explore my new home, share adventures or a meal, and laugh a lot. I found that all when I saw an ad for a book club that was meeting in Barnes and Noble. I had recently read the book and was missing my old book club, so I went. Someone asked if I was a member of Round Rock New Neighbors. What is that, I asked. The following week happened to be the monthly luncheon. I went not knowing a soul. I joined immediately and suddenly had (at that time) about 90 new friends. In Round Rock New Neighbors, I found my people, my girlfriends, my “home.”
