Our Origin Story
Since its founding in 1978 by young mothers who met while visiting a park with their children, New Neighbors of Greater Round Rock has grown to be a women’s social club with a much larger membership. Originally known as Round Rock New Neighbors, the club now includes members from many near-by towns, prompting the addition of Greater Round Rock to the name in 2022. We are all about making new friends. From native Texans to long-time residents to neighbors who just arrived, we have a place for you! We enthusiastically embrace Friendships Bloom Here! We would love to have you plant your roots with us and share in the fun.
Our fun activities center around the more than 30 Interest Groups, which meet monthly. Interest Groups are led by our members, covering a wide range of activities. We dine, create, explore the arts, play games, garden, read books, go to movies, help non-profits, and explore local attractions through our Safari Group. Our coffees and general meetings with luncheon provide excellent opportunities to meet and mingle.
New Neighbors of Greater Round Rock members like to give back to our community. We learn from speakers and activities that make us more aware of volunteer opportunities. Among the groups we support are the Round Rock Area Serving Center, Hope Totes, the Williamson County Regional Animal Shelter, Blue Santa, and various Veteran, school and community programs in our area.
