Cotton Patch was the location for Lunch Bunch in February. Food, friends and fun - in any order.

Everyone loves GM!S ! This casual get-together is held on the 4th Monday each month at Corner Bakery [near Sprouts] in Round Rock.

When asked by numerous Amtrak employees "Are You 'The Twelve'"?, we promptly and proudly responded "Yes. We are the Twelve!" And at the restaurant Pam McKee was asked "Are you Pam?" To which she replied: "Yes, I am Pam, but I am not THE Pam." "The Twelve" rode The Texas Eagle Amtrak train round trip between Taylor and Temple: Ann, Carole, Carolyn, Flo, Heather, Joyce, Melba, PamF, Pat, Patty, Teresa, Terry. Pam Mckee met us in Temple. We found downtown Temple very clean, particularly impressed by a well-built, well-kept children's park built under a downtown overpass! Downtown is filled with a mix of empty and filled storefronts, along with a smattering of government buildings and churches. All the stores I saw were very well kept; you could tell the owners took pride in them. With that in mind, after lunch at Bird Creek Burger Company, many of us shopped at various downtown stores. ONE of us had the biggest haul, winning the shopping prize of getting to haul all that haul back on the train, ha. I won't beat around the bush - it was Joyce - who, along with her bag "aides", arrived back in Taylor with nothing broken. The good news is the rest of us are invited to Joyce's for a Soup Tureen Party and a look at her bunnies. Later 9 of us hung out chatting outside at a coffee shop, while Ann, Carole and Melba took in a little culture, visiting a Quanah Parker Exhibit on display until April 15 at the Railroad and Heritage Museum. We nearly all boarded the train in Temple with a bag of some size; to heck with those offspring who wish we wouldn't buy any more stuff! As for the train ride... the train arrived Taylor late and PACKED! Our return train was also packed! Wow, who knew! At least half of us sat with strangers each direction. Some lucked out with friendly/interesting strangers (Carole, Carolyn, Pam, Heather,). Heather's seatmate was a frenchman from "Dijon", Ooh là là! Pat, Patty & Melba were seat-less on the way home, so rode together in the Dining Car; against the rules but what are you going to do when you are told by every passenger that the empty seat next to them is "taken"? We had one brief peek at the sun, but agreed the jacket-weather afternoon with calm wind "couldn't have been better"

Diana hosted this month's event.

Patricia hosted our Coffee Time this month. What a great time for everyone!
