13 of us arrived at Rentsch Brewery when they opened on Friday (4pm), for our Party of One gathering. The weather could not have been more ideal! And the location is lovely. Some recalled our last outing at Rentsch which we were all shocked to realize was more than 2 years ago in December, 2021! All Things Wild was there with some animal rescues, all with different stories. The eastern screech owl - after rehab, they tried to release it several times back into the wild, but it kept returning. It knows the good life when it sees it. Now it is one of their "ambassadors". Wow its fur was soft (I petted it at their encouraging). The skunk is NOT de-skunked (or whatever you call it). A young volunteer was walking around with it and told us it loves being an ambassador and never sprays. The duck's story is sad, but another young volunteer explained the prosthetic device they are developing for it (see photo). They had a bunny that never moved. I asked and was told "he's fine". Finally, a litter of possums. No thank you on petting one of those. Decided to spare you from the photo I took, ha. An enjoyable evening. -- Pam Fuchs Party of One Interest Group Coordinator 2023-2024

A few members took advantage of the first Caring Hands tour of Brookwood In Georgetown. Those members got to meet residents of the facility and see how the citizens create many of the beautiful gifts and baked goods sold in the BIG store and the restaurant. After the tour, the group was introduced to the new housing complex with assisted living homes, tiny homes, and a clubhouse.

The March General Meeting and Luncheon was charmed with lots of Leprechauns and shamrocks. Everyone left with a prize. Our speaker, Brian Woods of Brookwood in Georgetown, spoke about the vision and mission of that wonderful organization.
