National Rx Drug Take Back Day (drive-thru)

On April 22, the Round Rock Police Department and the Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) will give the public an opportunity to prevent pill abuse and theft by ridding their homes of potentially dangerous expired, unused and unwanted prescription drugs. At our last event in October, we collected 670 lbs. of prescription drugs!

To dispose of your prescription medications, simply drive through the Round Rock PD parking lot at 2701 N. Mays Street. The service is free and anonymous, no questions asked.

Materials Accepted: Prescription medicines, Over-the counter medications, diabetic test strips, and pet medications

Materials NOT Accepted: Needles, syringes, thermometers, IV bags, medical device, and personal care products

Take-back programs are the safest method for disposing of prescription drugs because they are organized and closely monitored by local, state, and federal government agencies. These agencies ensure the proper disposal of the drugs in accordance with federal law.

This event is for Round Rock residents. This program is not intended for medical businesses to dispose of medications. Medical businesses are regulated by DEA in how they dispose of medications.
